We all want to keep our children safe and as healthy as can be, don’t we?

Sometimes the products that are promoted to us as parents aren’t always the best things for our children and for us as adults. But we all do the best that we can to learn as much as possible to make informed decisions.

I’m still learning about how to make our home as clean as possible with the least amount of chemicals.

Not long ago I was introduced to Babyganics, a company that produces baby-safe products that doesn’t use toxic or harmful ingredients. Naturally, I wanted to try some of their products in hopes of finding solutions to our everyday needs that won’t harm our children’s bodies.

Living in a humid climate, my girls – 2-years old and 10-months old – tend to get a little warm and wet underneath the diaper area regardless of how often we change their diapers. After using the Babyganics Soothing Protective Ointment on their clean, dry skin I have started to notice a difference and their skin seems to be absorbing it. Yay, that means less rashes that they, and I, have to contend with. Perhaps it’s the NeoNourish® Natural Seed Oil Blend that combines with the other plant-based ingredients that does the trick. And as a mom, I like how the Babyganics products don’t use any parabens, phthalates, petroleum, mineral oil, dyes or fragrances.

Babyganics Eczema Care Skin Protectant CreamMy daughters don’t have any eczema-like skin issues, but it’s reassuring to know that Babyganics has created an Eczema Care Skin Protectant Cream for those children that need it.

Another Babyganics item we have been using during diaper changes is the Face, Hand & Baby Wipes. The plant-based ingredients in the wipes are also fragrance and alcohol free. They aren’t the softest wipes I’ve used on my girls’ bums however, the ingredient list on the Babyganics Face, Hand & Baby Wipes is what helps make them stand-out.Babyganics Face, Hand & Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free, 100ct

When my family and I were out and about and needed to wipe the girls’ hands or face, we used to just use the regular wipe that we had in the diaper bag – you know, the ones that we also used for diaper changes. But after using the Babyganics Alcohol-free Hand Sanitizing Wipes, I think I’ll make the switch. The hand sanitizing wipes come individually wrapped and have a slight scent of mandarin. Since our hands get washed so frequently, these wipes have moisturizing formula to keep my hands and my daughters’ hands clean and soft. The wipes are soft enough to wipe our little one’s faces as well.

Babyganics Hand & Face Wipes, Fragrance Free, 30ctThe other day we were at a park and my daughter was eating a lollipop and we know how sticky and messy they can be, right? Well, we used just one side of the Hand Sanitizing Wipe to clean off a few drips on her face and then folded it back into the wrapper and used the other side when she was done eating the lollipop. Had I been using a wipe from a big multi-wipe package, I would have discarded the wipe after the first cleaning and then grabbed another wipe to finish the job. Less waste, perhaps?

Another Babyganics product line that we have been using a lot the past few weeks is the sunscreen line. Our kids love it outside and I am one of those concerned mamas that need to apply the sunscreen every-time they are exposed to the sun. Because we use it so often it’s so nice knowing that Babyganics works hard at getting desired results without all the chemicals that most other products use. We’ve been using the Mineral-based Sunscreen (50+SPF) mostly and like that it wipes on easily. It’s tear-free too, however, when I apply it to my 2-year olds face, she usually freaks out and tears come out just because I’m touching her face. Do you experience those freak-outs too? The Babyganics Pure Mineral Sunscreen Stick (50+SPF) is also handy to have on hand as it’s small and compact…and I know that it’s not going to explode inside my purse and make a big mess. I sometimes use the Stick on my daughter’s face when she won’t let me use the liquid sunscreen – I pretend that it’s makeup to make it more fun. The sunscreens contain no PABA, phthalates, parabens, fragrances or nano-particles.Babyganics suncare

And speaking of make-up, my oldest daughter has always liked to put on lip gloss because she sees me doing it. I pulled out the Babyganics Lip & Face Balm the other day and she tried it. She hasn’t used it since. Not sure why – maybe because it’s a different tube than she’s used to. Not a biggie as there’s more of it for me – wink, wink! The balm glides on easily and keeps my lips moisturized for hours. It’s fragrance-free and it leaves virtually no taste. I have been keeping it in my pocket daily since I started using it.

Babyganics Surface wipesI know my husband and I have used our share of Lysol wipes around the kitchen to sanitize the countertops and other surface areas. Afterwards there was always a strong chemical smell left behind which lead us to believe that it was ‘cleaning.’ After using the Babyganics All Purpose Surface Wipes, I believe we will be making a permanent switch to the fragrance-free wipes. The floors, countertops, high-chair and even the toys are now being wiped down with the plant-based cleaning power of the Babyganics Surface wipes. I feel a lot better knowing my babies are not touching chemicals all day on their hands and feet.

Babyganics has done their homework on making baby-safe products and they are continually asking questions from parents, doctors, scientists and regulatory experts in hopes of improving daily. It’s really comforting to see that they are looking to create value in our babies’ world by providing us with safe ways to clean, soothe, nourish and protect our little ones.

Thank you, Babyganics!
